School Board

Board Chair: Melissa Musick Nussbaum has been a writer and lecturer for over 15 years. She has published books as well as written numerous articles for national publications. She has won several national awards for her writing. She has also served on a handful of committees and advisory councils at local, national and international levels. She received her BA in English and German from Grinnell College and later earned a Masters of Theology from St. Thomas Seminary. She and her husband have five children and ten grandchildren, two of whom attend MacLaren. [2nd Term: July 2021]
 
Board Vice-Chair: Hannah Parsons serves as CEO of Exponential Impact, a technology accelerator focused on blockchain, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.  Prior to joining Exponential Impact, Mrs. Parsons served as the Chief Economic Development Officer for the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC where she led the economic development office and strategic planning process as well as the government affairs teams and other initiatives. In 2011, she co-founded Epicentral Coworking with the goal of creating space for entrepreneurs to meet and grow great companies.

Mrs. Parsons holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business and a MBA from Georgia State University with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. She has one child attending MacLaren. [1st Term: January 2021]

Board Directors: 

Sam Edwards currently works as the Director of Education and Engagement at Citygate Network. He has held managerial positions for a number of organizations over the last twenty years, where he has honed his skills in marketing, communications and the training of staff and volunteers. Mr. Edwards graduated from St. Mary of the Plains College with a BA in Organizational Communication. He and his wife have one child who is an alumnus of MacLaren. [2nd Term: April 2020]

Tim Fuller has taught at Colorado College since 1965. He served as Acting President from August 2001 to January 2002. Before that he was Dean of the Faculty and College from 1992 to 1999. He chaired the Political Science Department from 1985 to 1991. He received a Ph.D. (with distinction) from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore) in 1971, an M.A. in 1965 and a B.A. from Kenyon College in 1961. He is widely published in his field of philosophy and political science. [2nd Term: December 2021]

Meredith Wardwell Sherman serves as the Director of Facilities and Construction for Centura Health, a healthcare company comprised of seventeen hospitals across the Front Range of Colorado. Mrs. Sherman has spearheaded master planning and strategic planning efforts for numerous hospital campus plans and renovations. Prior to her work with Centura, Mrs. Sherman was a Senior Project Manager at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago and Stanford Hospitals in Palo Alto.

Mrs. Sherman holds a MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School as well as a MS in Civil Engineering and BS in Architectural Engineering from University of Colorado - Boulder. Mrs. Sherman is a Colorado Springs native with a passion for the Springs community and its long-term growth and development. She has two children attending MacLaren. [1st term: March 2022]
