MacLaren String Quartet

The MacLaren String Quartet was founded in 2016 and is comprised of four of our orchestra faculty members who are also performers with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and hold advanced performance degrees in their given instrument. 

  • Michael Hanson, violin, serves as concertmaster of the Philharmonic.
  • Keith Redpath, violin, holds a doctorate in violin performance.
  • Cathy Hanson, viola, serves as principal violist of the Philharmonic.
  • Andy Kolb, cello, holds a doctorate in cello performance.

Each year, the Quartet performs several concerts in Colorado Springs. The performances are free; donations gratefully accepted. We hope you can come to one of them!

Soiree Musicale

  • February 1, 2019 at 7:30 p.m at First Christian Church, 16 E. Platte Ave. : The MacLaren String Quartet will be part of the program of the MacLaren Society event this evening which will be an evening of Chamber Music featuring Thomas MacLaren School performing arts faculty and friends in the beautiful sanctuary of First Christian Church downtown with a reception following.
