A mosaic mural is coming to MacLaren! Join us in this campus beautification project: a large-scale mural that tells the story of MacLaren.
Location: Along the retaining wall by the basketball courts
Construction materials: hand-made ceramic sculptures called storytiles, each highlighting an aspect of MacLaren’s curriculum or culture, and a traditional broken-tile mosaic background.
Total number of storytiles: 101
Cost of sponsorship: $100 per storytile
Number of storytiles currently available: 16
Phase 1: Thank you so much for your help with phase one! Sixteen tiles are available to sponsor. A tile sponsorship could be given as a gift, perhaps to honor a graduating student, or thank a teacher, or as a way to mark a whole family's involvement with the school. We also welcome donations, in any amount you are able to give, to the project as a whole rather than to a specific storytile. The sponsorship recognition will be posted on our website and linked via a permanent QR sign adjacent to the mural.
Phase 2: We are ready to move forward to the creation phase! Community members are welcome to assist in creating the storytile sculptures with the oversight and instruction of the staff of Concrete Couch and our own MacLaren Sustainability Committee. You can contribute to this project through participation in the creation of the art itself or through financial support of this beautiful work--or both. Click the button below to sign up!
How to sponsor: To sponsor this project, log in to MySchoolBucks and select one of the MacLaren Mosaic 2024 products. You will be asked to indicate a name for sponsorship recognition. Here, you can put a family name, particular student or teacher name, or write "anonymous" if you prefer. For storytile sponsorship, you will also choose the specific storytile you would like to sponsor.
