Thomas MacLaren Fall Field Day!

When: Friday, September 19th, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

This is a half day. There is no school in the afternoon.

Where: The Grace Center

1655 Pirate Heights, Colorado Springs

DROP OFF AND PICK UP AT THE GRACE CENTER!!

Staff will be at the Center at 7:30 a.m.

You may drop off students any time between 7:30-7:55 a.m.

What to wear: Field day is a run-around, athletic day. Students should dress appropriately and modestly:

1. Dress appropriately for the weather. In Colorado this means you should bring layers. The mornings are chilly—bring sweatpants or sweatshirt.

2. Bottoms: may wear sweats, jeans or shorts. Clothes may not be form fitting. Bottoms may not have a logo or lettering across the seat of the pants. Shorts may not be short-shorts. Pants may not be baggy.

3. Tops: Students may wear T-shirts. No logo or wording may be offensive. No tank tops, no sleeveless tops, no halter tops. Tops must not be tight; shirts may not reveal cleavage.

4. No undergarments of any kind may be visible.

5. Clothes may not have holes or rips. Clothes may not reveal the midriff.

6. Athletic socks and shoes should be worn.

7. Hair, jewelry, and accessories must be in line with regular uniform policy with the exception that students may bring hats and sunglasses.

What to bring:

 Bring a snack: no lunch.

 Bring your water bottle.


MacLaren Stands Out in Region and State

We are proud to announce that the class of 2015 has achieved the highest average ACT score in the Pikes Peak region and ranks #2 in the state! This class scored an average of 28.1 on the ACT test they took in April 2014. This class will be the third graduating class of Thomas MacLaren School. Each class has posted ACT scores which have placed them in the top 10 in the state.



Also, Thomas MacLaren School was ranked today by Schooldigger.com as the #1 high school in the state of Colorado after posting excellent scores on the TCAP tests from Spring 2014. These high scores included 100% Proficient and Advanced scores for 9th and 10th grade Reading and a 100% Proficient and Advanced score for 9th grade Writing. GO HIGHLANDERS!
